Plans and upgrades

Overview of boveDAM plans and how to upgrade.

boveDAM offers three plans to fit teams of different sizes and needs. All plans are billed at the workspace level — one subscription covers your entire workspace, all its portals, and all its members.

Free is a permanent free tier — it does not expire and requires no credit card. It is suited for freelancers or small teams sharing a handful of portals.

Studio is designed for design studios, marketing teams, or agencies managing several client projects simultaneously. Storage is sufficient for most project libraries, and the 10-member limit covers most small teams.

Agency removes all limits on portals and members, making it the right choice for large agencies, multi-brand companies, or any team that cannot predict growth. Priority support ensures you get a faster response when something is urgent.

Billing periods: monthly and annual

Both Studio and Agency plans can be billed monthly or annually. Annual billing saves the equivalent of 2 months compared to paying month by month — effectively giving you 12 months of access for the price of 10.

You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from Account settings → Billing. Switching to annual billing takes effect immediately and the remaining value of any monthly period is credited toward the annual cost. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the next renewal date.

How to upgrade

Upgrades take effect immediately — the moment you confirm, your workspace gains the new storage quota, portal limit, and member limit:

  1. Go to Account settings → Billing.
  2. Click Change plan.
  3. Select the plan you want to upgrade to.
  4. Choose monthly or annual billing.
  5. Review the prorated charge for the remainder of the current billing period.
  6. Click Confirm upgrade.

If you are upgrading from Free, you will need to add a payment method before confirming.

How to downgrade

Downgrades are scheduled rather than immediate. When you downgrade:

  1. Go to Account settings → Billing → Change plan.
  2. Select the lower plan.
  3. Confirm the downgrade.

The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you retain full access to your current plan's features until that date. You will see a "Downgrade scheduled" notice in Billing until the change takes place.

What happens if your current usage exceeds the new plan's limits

boveDAM does not delete anything automatically when you downgrade. However, you will not be able to create new portals or invite new members if your usage exceeds the new plan's limits once the downgrade takes effect:

  • Too many portals: Existing portals remain accessible, but the New portal button is disabled until you are within the new limit.
  • Too many members: Existing members retain access, but Invite member is disabled until you are within the new limit.
  • Over storage quota: Existing files are preserved, but new uploads are blocked. You will need to delete assets and wait up to 24 hours for the storage quota to recompute before uploads resume.
