Custom domains

Serve your portals from your own domain — coming soon.

Custom domain support will let you serve boveDAM portals from a domain you own — for example, assets.yourstudio.com or brand.yourclientname.com. Portals will continue to work exactly as they do today, but visitors will see your domain in the address bar instead of a bovedam.com URL.

How it will work

Setup will be handled entirely through the boveDAM dashboard. No configuration files, no server setup, and no manual certificate management. The planned flow:

  1. Add your domain in Settings → Domains → Add custom domain. Enter the subdomain you want to use, such as assets.yourstudio.com.
  2. Add a CNAME record to your DNS provider pointing the subdomain to boveDAM's infrastructure. The dashboard will show you the exact record value to enter.
  3. Automatic HTTPS provisioning. boveDAM handles certificate issuance and renewal through a trusted certificate authority. Your portal is served over HTTPS from the moment the DNS record propagates — typically within a few minutes, and no longer than 24–48 hours for global propagation.

You will be able to map one custom domain per portal, or use the same domain to serve multiple portals under different paths if your plan supports it.

What this changes for visitors

Clients who visit your portal via a custom domain have an identical experience to visiting via a bovedam.com URL. All portal features work as expected: language switching, asset downloads, password or login gating, and mobile-responsive layout.

The only visible difference is the URL. For clients who want seamless, branded access, this removes any reference to a third-party tool in their browser.

Combined with white-label

Custom domains pair naturally with the White-label feature. When both are active, clients see your domain in the address bar and your studio's branding throughout the portal — with no visible indication that boveDAM powers the experience.

Custom domains are planned as a feature for higher-tier plans. Details on plan availability will be confirmed at launch.
