Getting started

Build your first portal

The 4-screen flow: name, slug, cover, defaults. A portal is a standalone brand presentation — a curated, shareable view of your assets organized for a specific audience. Building one takes four screens and under five minutes.

Step 1 — Name your portal

From the dashboard, click New portal. Enter a portal name. This is your internal label — it appears in your portal list and in email notifications. Clients see only the portal's cover and logo, not its internal name.

Portal names can be changed at any time from the portal settings panel.

Step 2 — Set the URL slug

The slug becomes part of your portal's shareable URL: app.bovedam.com/p/your-slug. Slugs must be lowercase, use only letters, numbers, and hyphens, and be unique within your workspace.

Once a portal is published and shared, changing the slug breaks existing links. Choose a slug you can commit to.

A cover image sets the visual tone for clients arriving at your portal. The recommended size is 1600 × 900 px (16:9). JPEG and PNG are supported; maximum file size is 10 MB.

The logo is displayed in the portal header. Upload an SVG or PNG with transparency. If no logo is uploaded, the portal shows your workspace name as text.

You can skip this step and add media later from portal settings.

Step 4 — Set defaults

Choose:

  • Default locale — the language shown to visitors who have no locale preference set. See Default locale.
  • Visibility — whether the portal is private (login required), password-gated, or public. See Visibility.

Click Create portal. The portal is created in draft state and not yet visible to clients. When ready, publish it.
